Our Coaches

Andrew Martin, Coach

The son of farmers, Andrew grew up knowing the taste of sweat and the value of hard work. Through high school and university (where he met his wife and TDA partner) it became obvious his path did not lead back to the farm. Experiences in the arts, the insurance industry and over 20 years in the not-for-profit world of church leadership have helped to shape him as a leader and coach. His Lumina Spark portrait describes him as a logical thinker who makes decisions objectively. He is a good listener, is able to turn theoretical ideas into practice and often has a clear picture of the end result.

Lisa Devall-Martin, EdD, Coach

Some of my friends call me a coffee enthusiast. In fact, 'enthusiast' describes my outlook on most things in life. As a university professor at Redeemer University in the School of Education (Ancaster, Ontario, Canada), I enjoy writing, teaching, researching, coaching and simply 'being' in this complex world; living undivided!

My expertise in education stems from two decades as an elementary school teacher and school administrator in Ontario, Canada, while completing my doctoral research studies at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, USA, in entrepreneurial leadership in education. This is when I first utilized the Lumina Spark© tool in research.

More recently, at Redeemer University, I have seen the benefits of the Lumina Spark© experience on pre-service teachers, which produces increased self-awareness, a celebration of diversity, building rapport with others and co-creating culture.

Locally, as a university professor, I am committed to ensuring my teaching is innovative through purposefully designed transformative learning experiences based on the most recent research in education.

Globally, I have the privilege of developing collaborative partnerships in education as the president of the International NGO Education-4-Change (Somali Region, Ethiopia) to address various barriers prohibiting girls and youth from attending school. In addition, I am a strong advocate for sustainable soul-care as a pathway to Christian educators' holistic well-being; human flourishing [shalom].

In my leisure time, I love walking my two dogs, Sherlock and Watson, and enjoy cooking for my family!
